About Our Instructor: Kusai Abidin, Ph.D., MTM, RMT (Dr. Kitcho) is a Registered Massage Therapist and experienced educator specializing in Thai Massage, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Auricular Therapy, and CRT Massage. With over 25 years of experience in massage therapy and education, Dr. Kitcho has taught in four countries and specializes in treating motor vehicle accident (MVA) clients. He currently provides massage therapy and professional training in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto.

The Kitcho Approach

Dr. Kitcho uses advanced assessment techniques to identify the underlying causes of pain and combines different therapeutic techniques to achieve effective results. The name “Kitcho” was given to Dr. Kusai Abidin by his master massage teacher in China. He earned a Master’s qualification in Oriental Massage in China and Thailand, followed by his RMT designation in Canada.

• Course #1: Acupressure Therapy — Introduction Level •

Category: A

Learn the fundamentals of Acupressure based on the same techniques taught to international students in China. Acupressure is an ancient healing practice that uses targeted pressure on specific points of the body to release muscular tension, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing process. This hands-on course will teach you how to integrate Acupressure into your massage treatments. You will learn Yin and Yang theory, the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, meridians, major Acupressure points, and techniques for addressing common concerns such as neck and shoulder pain, headaches, and more.

• Course #2: Acupressure Therapy — Advanced Level •

Category: A

Prerequisite: Acupressure Therapy — Introduction Level

Build on the techniques learned in Course #1 and deepen your knowledge of meridians, Acupressure points, and advanced treatment techniques. Learn practical approaches for addressing conditions such as back pain and sciatica, constipation, hot flashes, TMJ, menstrual discomfort, swelling, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more.

• Course #5: Level I — Introduction to Thai Massage (Nuad Bo-Rarn) •

Category: A

Learn the foundations of traditional Thai Massage, including Sen energy lines, Yin and Yang concepts, stretching, Acupressure, and proper body mechanics. Students will learn 63 techniques and movements, including the use of thumbs, palms, elbows, and feet, as well as focused abdominal (Hara) work. By the end of the course, students will be able to perform an effective 1.5-hour Thai Massage sequence covering both the front and back of the body.

• Course #6: Level II — Intermediate Thai Massage (Nuad Bo-Rarn) •

Prerequisite: Level I — Introduction to Thai Massage

Build on the foundations of Level I with a deeper understanding of Thai Massage energy lines and advanced techniques. Learn 70 additional techniques and movements, including advanced stretching and techniques using the knees and fists, with treatment sequences in side-lying, prone, and seated positions. Upon completion of Levels I and II, students will have the skills to perform a comprehensive 3-hour Thai Massage treatment.

• Course #7: Level IV — Advanced Therapeutic Thai Massage (Nuad Bo-Rarn) •

Prerequisite: Thai Massage Levels I & II

Explore advanced Thai Massage techniques with a focus on therapeutic Acupressure points for addressing common concerns such as headaches, back pain, neck and shoulder tension, and limb numbness. Learn how to accurately locate and apply advanced pressure points, combining them with techniques from Levels I and II. The course also explores the relationship between Thai Acupressure points and Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture points.

Learn the fundamentals of Thai Foot Reflexology and Leg Massage, including reflex points, foot zones, relaxation techniques, and the history of reflexology. Students will learn 63 techniques and movements, including specialized techniques using the traditional Thai wooden reflexology stick.

Learn the fundamentals of Thai Chair Massage, including 60 techniques and movements targeting the neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms, hands, and head. Students will learn effective Acupressure techniques, body positioning, and proper use of the hands, thumbs, fingers, and elbows for a safe and effective treatment.

Learn the principles and practical application of Chinese Cupping Massage, an ancient technique used to address fascial restrictions, promote mobility, and work with deeper tissues while reducing strain on the therapist’s hands.

• Course #14: Insurance Reimbursement for Massage Therapists •

Category: A

Learn the essentials of motor vehicle accident (MVA) insurance claims and reimbursement for RMTs in Ontario. The course covers HCAI, OCF-23 and OCF-18 forms, the Minor Injury Guideline, billing codes, documentation, and communication with insurance companies when working with MVA clients.

• Course #16: Tok Sen — Tapping Massage •

Learn the traditional Tok Sen technique from Northern Thailand, using a wooden mallet and wedge combined with Thai Acupressure points. This rhythmic tapping method creates therapeutic vibration through the fascia and muscles, helping release tension, improve circulation, promote relaxation, and support overall mobility. Dr. Kitcho is one of the few practitioners offering this unique technique in Ontario.

Learn the theory and practical application of Trigger Point Therapy, including referral patterns, clinical findings, common causes, and associated trigger points. The course includes detailed diagrams, hands-on practice, treatment techniques, and protocols for common conditions, with an emphasis on effective techniques that minimize client discomfort.

• Course #18: CRT — Combined Release Therapy (Developed and refined by Dr. Kitcho) •

CRT is a comprehensive therapeutic massage approach that combines selected Eastern and Western techniques to address individual client needs and common pain conditions. This hands-on course covers Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure, Myofascial Release, stretching, joint mobilization, reflexology, Swedish and sports massage, Thai Massage, ultrasound, electrotherapy, and more. Students will learn practical treatment strategies for conditions such as headaches, muscle spasms, sciatica, trigger points, and other common pain concerns, with extensive hands-on practice and clinical guidance. Duration: 7 days (7 Sundays, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.)
